In maker-centered learning environments, students are encouraged to combine STEM learning to dream up their own inventions, experiment, fail, modify, and experiment again until they've made something personally meaningful. It is taking ownership of your surroundings and being aware of the design of everything around you.

https://www.teachhub.com/teaching-strategies/2020/04/what-is-maker-education/

Maker education is the incorporation of hands on learning and creation into curriculum, which allows for a higher level of problem solving through construction and design thinking. Engineering design is a problem-solving process in which iterative steps such as planning, modeling, and testing can be completed to find the best solution for the problem. These ideas go hand in hand because you have to use engineering design in maker education to get a physical solution to a problem.

Maker education is where young adults go to an elementary school to help teach students on how to build things and connect things. Engineering design is the method that engineers use to identify and solve problems. The relationship is that they both have to deal with building connecting things together. We can find something that they like and let them write down the steps on how to make it. Then put it all together.

MakerEd is about combing different areas of education emphasis into one creative design process. This education method allows students to work in together to build community while also teaching them to use tools to solve design problems. It is important to note that with this method students are not just building things for the end goal; rather, they are learning art, engineering, math, science, and other subjects with every step of the design process.
