Plastic Pollution is only going to get worse. For example, “Over 700 species of marine animals have been reported to have eaten or been entangled in plastic”, (Plastic  Pollution) Think of all the poor animals in the ocean who mistake it the plastic. This would mean that all these animals didn’t know it was plastic, but you did. For instance, “Scientists think that the amount of plastic will triple by 2050”, (Plastic pollution). This would mean the food chain would be all jumbled up, and animals would die.  For example, “We use and toss away things we can recycle: grocery bags, drinking bottles, straws, wrappers, and packaging around toys. (Plastic Pollution) All these single-use items are horrible for us and the ocean. You may think this problem is being handled but it's not. This is why we should reduce plastic pollution and save the animals in the ocean and the ocean itself.

      The solution to plastic pollution is by using more recycled items and is less single-use items. For instance, “Reduce plastic waste At its source, be aware of packaging items that use plastic and use items that use less of it,” (Tiny plastic big problem). This explains why in simple steps you can stop Plastic Pollution. “Skip the plastic bags, including zippered ones used for food, invest in reusable water bottles, as well as lunch containers, and say NO to plastic straws”. (TIny plastic big problem) See in simple steps we can get all of the plastic debris away from our oceans. And it can make a difference, imagine if Lake Erie was crystal blue people and animals would be happy. This is why you should discard all your single-use items and go for the healthier alternative. 

Senator Stabenow, I know you love Michigan as much as I do. We love going out on the lake in the summer, be we don’t want to see trash. So help keep our waters clean and take small steps to make the lakes and oceans clean again. Stop buying single-use items and start saving our lakes for future Michigan kids.
