         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Kickapoo tribe that lived in Texas was kicked out when the  Texans sought independence. Some of the people in this tribe went to Mexico where they were granted land.  Later in the 1870’s, the members of the Kickapoo tribe living in mexico were captured and brought to Oklahoma. In 1985, the Kickapoo received a land grant in Texas and they currently live on both sides of the Texas border. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>Juan Nepomuceno lived in Texas. When he was walking he saw a officer beating a Mexican farm worker. Juan saw this and told the officer to stop when he refused Juan shot him. He later held up the Mexican flag in Texas. As the us army fought the Mexicans they retreated into mexico. He kept fighting at the Texas-Mexican border. He got captured and imprisoned towards the end of the war.</em></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The US was justified to acquire this land because Texas fought for their independence from Mexico and was in favor of joining the United States. However, when acquiring this territory the US should not have kicked the Native American tribes off of their land. This was unfair to them and the US was not justified to do this.   </div>]]></description>
