1. Katniss Everdeen is from the Hunger Games series. Her three main attributes are her strong morals, independence, and bravery. Something that resembles her bravery is "The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried." which helped her win her first hunger games. Her strong morals accurately relate to how "God will not have his work made manifest by cowards", which shows her self-confidence and aspire to win.

2. One song that is heavily influenced by Emerson's essay is "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi. A line in the song talks about how "It's my life. It's now or never. But I ain't gonna live forever. I just want to live while I'm alive", which is connected to the text as they both talk about how being independent and strong in your life and to not hold back on living. Another lyric that connects to the excerpt is "Better stand tall when they're calling you out. Don't bend, don't break, baby, don't back down", which resembles the act of not giving up on life and that being consistent to yourself is important to not failing.

But do thou leave as unlawful these winnings, and deal with Cause and Effect, the chancellors of God. In the Will work and acquire, and thou hast chained the wheel of Chance, and shalt sit hereafter out of fear from her rotations."

5. Chris McCandless from Into The Wild embodies these principles because he takes every risk and opportunity presentable. Also he strays off the path of following a normal society and chooses to live his own way by himself. He shows off his self-resilience through his desire to follow what his heart thinks and live on the edge
