AmeriCoprs is a volunteer program many young people participate in after or before college. I found a job I was interested in on the AmeriCorps website. I applied online and was asked to do a Skype interview. I was offered a position after the interview!

When I moved to DC I never thought that I could find a job that quickly and just after a week that I was here and I was trying to meet new people and potential help in the Italian community, I met this Italian woman that was owner of a well-known Salon in DC and she decided to hire me and she helped me a lot with the language. 
I was already a qualified Hairdresser but because I didn’t have any client yet and my English was very low level, she decided to let me start as a shampoo girl and  by the time my English got better and people start to know me more and get comfortable, that  made my path easier because after one year I start to introduce myself as a hairdresser/makeup artist and they already knew me and my personality for this the trusted me better than a new hairdresser.

The first think I was typing in google was ,,English Classes for adults” Then google showed me a few schools near my location.  I was looking for job in Arlington Virginia  
It was my first time in this country. 
I didn’t know how to start and what companies requiered. 
In this country I didn’t know how any recommendation from any company and friends gave me advice and they recommended to get more information from Arlington Community Center .
