Jasper Daluson
1st year
Biology
As a doctor, it os vital for us to innovate drugs that can cure diseases. In which, systematics can help us onto characterization of what kind pf plants do we need to experiment on, their properties and such. Also, it can be vital in which animals would be best to try the said invented drug.
I was entangled by the beauty of this subject when I started my SHS. My teacher in General Biology has taught me the beauty of life and how complex and exciting it to be studied.
Medical Biology
Taxonomy is one of the hardest part of biology because you get to characterize not only animals but also plants, so basically you are going to systematize all of the living organisms from small to large. Considering this is a laboratory i would expect more of activities, obviously, that would help us better understand what we have learned during lectures.
😨

Madjid

Year Level: 1

Course: BS Biology

What is the relevance of Systematics to your future career?
As an aspiring medical doctor, I think systematics is relevant in my future career in such a way that this course covers not just different kinds of organisms but importantly their relationship to one another. Aside from this, it also covers the study of human body, which is very relevant to my future career goal, I also think it is important to study other organisms as well since they are related and learning such wider scope of study is a good strategy to understand ideas better.

Why choose Bio and future Career Options?
I choose BS Biology because I am an aspiring medical doctor. I wish to become a medical doctor ever since I was a child. My mother took a major place in my wanting to become a doctor. Also, I think generally helping people makes me happy and makes me feel that I have a purpose to life and to everyone.

Specialization Strand: BS Biology Major in Medical Biology

Expectation:
My expectations for this course is that I will be able to deeply understand how organisms relate to each other. I also expect lots of memorizations and understanding of animal taxonomy. And because this course is especially a laboratory one, I expect lots of laboratory activities mirrored to the topics in lecture.

Your emoji at the start of the term: 😧

Your emoji at the end of the term:

2nd Year-Irregular

BS Biology

Systematics is important in biology because it allows us to characterize the species that we study. It also provides predictions and testable hypotheses by creating classes that represent evolutionary links.

Biology is the field where I belong. I love science discoveries but helping people is one of my passion and I want to be able to do that if I become a Doctor.

Medical Biology or

Cell and Molecular Biology

For this course, my expectations are simple. First, I'd be more than happy to be able to practice classification of organisms. Second, to have ability to apply what I have learned to real-life applications. Lastly, for this course to be exciting and fun learning to everyone.

My emoji at the start of the term: 🕵️‍♀️
My emoji at the end of the term: 👨‍🔬
