This time period is referred to as "The Final Decline" because it immediately follows the Persian invasion. While the Persians were technically in power, but most Egyptian culture was kept in tact. Historians argue over this time period due to certain similarities between life in the 25th and and 31st dynasties. The main event her though is the invasion of the Persians. While no invasions are entirely peaceful, this among one of the more civil because so many traditions were left to be. The Persian empire was ruled by King Cambyses II at the time of the invasion, and reigned over Egypt for 100 years.
