         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>What are the three lines of defense for our bodies? <br></strong>The first line of defense is our skin, then stomach acids, mucus, tears, vaginal opening. The second line of defense is macrophages ( fever and inflammatory response)<br>The third line of defense is T Cells and B cells, these destroy pathogens. <br><br><strong>What is the Immune System?<br></strong>The Immune System is the bodies defense against infectious bacteria and diseases. <br><br><strong>Why is it important to us? <br></strong>The Immune System is important to us, because if we did not have an immune system our bodies would end up being filled with diseases. <br><br><strong>How do immunizations work?<br></strong>Immunizations basically put a small amount of a specific disease into the body so that the immune system 'learns' of the disease and knows how to fight the disease in the future. <br><br><strong>What happens when it doesn't work as it should?<br></strong>When immunizations don't work, the patient would end up getting sick/diseased/infected. <br><br><strong>How do some medical treatments compromise the immune system?<br></strong>Your immune system can be strengthened or weakened by different medicines and treatments.&nbsp;While on Chemotherapy, the Chemo is assisting fight the cancer yet it is killing white blood cells. <br><br></div>]]></description>
