Although we all have different languages, an individual name, a certain nationality and specific cultural background that does not mean we have to identifz with it. Identification means something that we inherited, we were brought up with but it can change. I can always get rid of my past, my identity, something that society and religion teaches us. Life, nature, cultures and peoples are changing every day. That development, that change is happening continuously.
Learning something new every momemt, experiencing different people and places helps me to understand this constant flow and supports us to come to my own identity, to my own individual self.

We only know ourselves if we have the interaction with others. That knowledge allows the acceptance of other cultures and identities. The personnal identity is in continual change and we have to accept and embrace it. This is a key competence for everyday life.

How can define myself and where is my place in the world?
This is an important question nowadays in Germany to find out what is the "German Leitkultur". Today we tried to find out what "identity" means.

I have to admit that I have never before thought so much about my name and its meaning and the cultural context I am living in. 

Especially with modern communication technologies, cultures can globally influence each other. This does also affect the identity, as the cultural identity is part of the personal identity. Therefore, it is important to know how cultural aspects influence your identity.

The exchange with the colleagues and their views have helped me learn more about who I am.
