Have HR talk to the Radiology administrator who was on duty and the rad tech who treated this lady with disrespect for her culture. The HR rep can let them know where they were wrong and lacked cultural competence.

Have a diversity day seminar for the whole hospital with a cultural competence coach

Write a formal policy for the hospital on how to be aware of cultural trends that could affect procedures done in the hospital. Such as a weave with metal that would affect an MRI. Make sure that everyone explains why certain things affect procedures such as an MRI and not direct it toward a specific culture, race, religion, gender, etc.

Establish cultural competency continuing education programs for all employees to attend. The HR department will assist in this process and appoint a leader to head up these programs. Employees will be required to attend at least 2 classes a year that will include education on other cultures and proper policies and procedures to follow when working with a diverse group of patients.

Timeline:
The action plan to improve the cultural competency will be given 6 months to be implemented. This includes addressing the rad tech personally on what happened, establishing a new cultural competency policy for the hospital, and establishing continuing education programs for all employees to attend.
