         <description><![CDATA[<div>Malcolm X was born as Malcolm Little on May 19, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. His mother’s name was Louise Norton Little. He spent time in jail for robbery from 1946 to 1952. He was known as the most influential spokespeople for black rights in the United States. He believed that black people needed to work for their rights. Malcolm X was an expressive, passionate and naturally gifted and inspirational speaker. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Malcolm became an influential leader of the Nation of Islam, which combined Islam with black nationalism and sought to encourage and enfranchise disadvantaged young blacks searching for confidence in segregated America.  He dedicated his life to advocating for black rights. He was a separatist, which meant that he opposed integration and believed in the separation of white and black Americans as the only way for black people to achieve equality.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Malcolm X was successful.  Malcolm went on a pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. That proved to be a life-changing journey. He shared his thoughts and beliefs with people of other cultures and found their responses to be positive. When Malcolm returned to the United States, he held a new outlook on the future. He began to speak to all races, not just African Americans. In 1963, the New York Times reported that Malcolm X was the second most sought after speaker in the United States.</div>]]></description>
