         <description><![CDATA[<div>The novel begins by introducing the character who gives her name: Mara, a widowed woman with two children (Persida and Trica). Mara loved her children very much and that is why she was able to do everything for their own good. day for the two of them and for the funeral. She always wanted her daughter to be special and so was the boy. He wanted to send his daughter to the monastery to be well educated, she felt that she would not be able to give him a good education on her own, and he wanted to make the boy an apprentice, a journeyman at Bocioaca's house.<br><br>Mother Aegidia was highly respected by Mara and that is why she left her daughter in her care, in a monastery with a very good reputation. Persida was preferred to the mother. The mother helps Mara with money so that the woman has money for Trica, the latter studies at school.<br><br>At school, Trica was kind of fighting with those she didn't suffer, this being the case when she got beaten up by a boy older than him. Mures was upset that they were both dying of fear and their mother Aegidia of shame, but everything ended well, the children being saved.<br><br>In the spring a window of the monastery was broken by the strong wind, and at that moment Natl saw Persida at the window and froze. she could think of Persida, who seemed more beautiful than a fairy, and Persida felt that something very different was going on in her soul, she could not remember the face she saw among the shards of the broken window.<br><br>Trica was sent as a nun to Claici's house, and near Milena's wedding Mara and Persida went to visit Trica. at Munteanu's wedding to Milena. This could have been overlooked by Hubar and his partners, but as Bocioaca finds out that Natl is after Persida so Natl had to spend other months away from his family. On the day he returned, there was great joy at his house. Persida was also happy when Natl returned. but Bocioaca, looking through his travel book, saw that Natl had spent more time working than at the butchers,things that made him postpone Natl's 'master cut'.<br><br>Hubar was ashamed of his son's deed and always tried to tell him something, until the day he came to the butcher to scold him and found him at work with a knife in his hand. The moment he wanted to pounce on Natl threw the knife out of his hand and pushed Hubar to avoid being slapped, but Hubar fell and hit himself. The only one who did not believe this was Persida, who could not believe such things about the man she loved. who trusted Persida.<br><br>Natl and Persida secretly got married with the help of Trica and Codrenu (who could not refuse Persida), and went together to Vienna where they felt good for a few months, although Persida missed home. being among strangers, but she felt good knowing that Natl loves her and she loves him. All until one day a letter arrives from Trica in which Mara forgives her daughter and indirectly calls her home. letter and began to do everything possible to return home.
