The homepage features several media options including read-to-me texts, videos, audiobooks, and comics! While exploring the read-to-me text Once Before Time: Cinderella Rex, I found that you can highlight each word being read, change the volume and speed of the audio, and take a reading comprehension quiz when you finish the book.

The site features many different articles and books to choose from that range from a variety of topics and interests. While reading the text, there are sounds and animations on the tabs and words in the text. There is also the option to turn these off if it's too distracting. I really liked the definition feature where you can click on a highlighted word and it'll read the definition to you.

For the 1st grade reading level, it made the sentences shorter and vocabulary less advanced. And on the complete opposite end in 12th grade, the sentences got much longer with more complicated vocabulary.

Original (5-6th grade): The recipients were happy to receive the pencils. In fact, they were much happier than the givers had predicted.

Lower (1st grade): The people who got the pencils were very happy. They were even happier than the people who gave them thought they would be.

Higher (12th grade): The recipients expressed profound gratitude for the pencils they received, demonstrating a level of joy that surpassed the expectations of the givers.

I initially didn't think about the punctuation and just spoke without it. However, as you can see in the screencast, I realized after that I needed to add it in when I spoke!

After reading through the different suggestions it gave for other learning options, I think it could be a really useful tool to have it a classroom. It gave options like story maps, presentations, and other more artistic options to display thinking. MagicSchool has several different resources that would help teachers and students.

There were video resources and other visual media like Ted Talks. And something else I appreciated was that they included different games and activities that students could utilize as well. Most of the resources given were ones that I had either used in my own K-12 experience or in college!

It allows you to change the speed of the reader, highlight words that are being read, and allows you to check for grammar used in the text.

I already had Google Translate on my phone but I hadn't used the camera feature that allows you to translate in real time through your camera. I held my phone up to my watercolor book and it translated from English to Spanish. You can also change it so it shows the original photo and tap on each word individually to translate! I thought this was such a cool and helpful feature.
