You can see in my rubric that I identified that most aspects were in my 3-4 and 5-6 zones, through my preparation, action, and recovery stages.

I Made 1 out of 7 free throw shots.

when I started this process I was an early-stage associate learner, I wasn't able to make internal corrections as I was making a lot of the same mistakes when shooting my shots. I was focusing a lot on the form of my shot instead of making my shot because I believed that developing a good form was more important than making my shot as my rubric focused a lot on the form and very little on if I made my shoot or not.

Another way I knew I was in the Associate stage was that if I was autonomous learners would be making the shots, with close to perfect form.

I also saw and felt that my shot wasn't the same every time, whereas in a closed skill should be the same every time, either though they weren't the same shot every time I felt they were similar shots, and were close together, but I still needed a lot of pratice. For this reason I felt I was in the early asscotive stage.

I knew and performed the basic techniques and movements but I wasn't using them effectively or contestly.

After my practices, I performed my skill against my rubric and I identified that most of the criteria were in my 5-6 zones, through my preparation, action, and recovery stages.

I Made 3 out of 5 free throw shots.

Through these practices, I have started to make and use internal corrections while performing my skill, but still mostly rely on external feedback by watching my practice videos back and making small corrections to my shooting.

I could see that in my video I made little adjustments during and after my shots, for example, my first 2 shots had too much power and hit the backboard so I reduced my power and increased the angle at which I released the ball and then I successfully made a shot with a perfect power that didn't hit the backboard.

I understood the shooting technique but I made many small mistakes which when added together had a big impact on my performance. For example, a mistake I noticed was my guarding hand put too much pressure on the ball causing me to shoot with less accuracy. This is a little mistake to fix, but I need to the pressure on the ball to hold it in place when moving around and also set up my shot. Finding this balance is challenging, and I still need to find the perfect balance.

Before my practice, it was 14% (1/7), and after 60% (3/5). Using this external feedback, knowledge of results, I could see that I had improved.

Most effective Practice

My most effective practice was my 3/5 practice. In this practice, I worked on making my shooting conditions as game-like as possible and making them more challenging too. These exercises, were challenging efforts to push me to my limit and help me improve, while also not being too hard. It was good that the drills weren't too hard because, then to succeed in the drill I would be sacrificing my form, but during these drills, I could feel that my form was similar to a model performance and when I watched the video of my I could also see that my form was similar.

My first drill was "Tried free throw shooting" which is a whole drill, that includes me running 10 laps of the basketball court to get tired and fatigued, and then shooting 10 free throws, focusing on form. This drill was effective as it most replicated a game, as in a game I am very tired, and it is harder to focus and make fine motor movements.

My second drill was "Behind Free Throw line shooting" which was a whole-part-whole drill. This drill focused mainly on generating more power from my legs, and less power in my arms. Combined with the 10 laps I ran before this helped me to practice to not rely on my arms for power in a game. I shot 15 of these types of shots

My least effective practice was my 2nd practice out of 5, and It included fixed, fixed, and whole exercises, this was to practice with isolation and then practice incorporating that isolation into my shot. I felt that this practice wasn't effective, as I felt internally that the shot didn't feel smooth and normal like the drill should. I saw externally through watching my video that I generated power through my wrist and arm, rather than my legs which was going against the technique that I saw from the modal performer, and the technique that I had stated in my rubric.

My first drill was "Straight arm wrist shooting" which was a fixed exercise where I would stand close to the basket and extend my arm to isolate the flicking of the wrist to create backspin and positioning. I performed this exercise from 3 spots close, medium, and far, with 10 shots from each space.

My second drill was "Normal free throw shooting with guiding hand", this was my second drill as it was an opportunity to incorporate this isolation drill with my full shoot, as well as incorporate the single arm shooting isolation I practiced last practice as well. During this practice I could feel that I was using a different technique when flicking my wrist when shooting, and when I switched to perform the shoot with a similar form to that I had practiced I didn't make a single shot (Knowledge of results), I would feel that ball be unsteady in my hand and the motion wouldn't be smooth, like my other form before this practice.

Straight arm wrist shooting - Fixed - Part - 10 minutes

3 spots - close, medium, and far

10 makes at each spot

Shooting with guiding hand - whole - 10 minutes

3 spots - close, medium, and far

10 makes at each spot
