         <description><![CDATA[<div>We are currently in our Evolution Unit and I like to transition into the unit with the use of Dichotomous Charts/Keys and Cladograms. For an inquiry based introduction I get out a wide range of skulls and have students take several key measurements that can lead to to discussion about evolutionary change and the construction of a cladogram based on collected data. After I was done explaining the measurements I thought a video could be helpful for future use. This video ended up being a little longer than the 3-5 minutes, but I figured that I would explain things how I normally would, that way I can play the video and circulate the room while kids learn, helping/fixing any things that need it! I also added subtitles/closed captioning through YouTube (neat how it automatically lines up the text that you type!).</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To create this video to help kids understand when to have the stem go up or down on the staff I used the record feature on my document camera to create the visual. I had a class narrate the video using Audacity and an external USB microphone. It was all put together using Windows Movie Maker. Music literacy is really important to me, and my kids and I talk regularly about "musical jibberish". Though not a lesson that is terribly time consuming, I hope this will help kids to accurately notate music and that is is the first of a series to address "musical jibberish'.</div>]]></description>
