People who are high in openness tend to enjoy the arts and seek out unusual, complex forms of self-expression. People who are low in openness are often suspicious of the arts and prefer to focus on more practical pursuits.Because your score is in the midrange, it is likely that you do not stand out as either a particularly imaginative, nor a particularly conservative person.
Conflict in The Outsiders

The Outsiders has lots of conflict. The main conflict is person vs person from the fighting between the Socs and the Greasers. One quote from this conflict is: “Skin fighting isn't rough. It blows off steam better than anything. There's nothing wrong with throwing a few punches. Socs are rough. They gang up on one or two, or they rumble each other with their social clubs” (27). This is an explanation of “Skin Fighting” or fighting without weapons. They just used it to get rid of tension between the two gangs. There was also a lot of interior conflict, or person vs self, especially from Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry. All of them go through a lot of emotion through the story from fighting with the Socs to Johnny dying. Everyone in The Outsiders goes through some internal conflict at one point. This concludes that there is a lot conflict in The Outsiders.

Setting in The Outsiders

The Outsiders’ setting affects the story greatly. For this story to take place, the Greasers have to be in a poor part of town. The Socs also have to be in the rich part of town. If it weren't like this, the story may have been completely different. Here is one quote from The Outsiders that proves this: “We get jumped by the Socs. I'm not sure how you spell it, but it's the abbreviation for the Socials, the jet set, the West-side rich kids. It's like the term "greaser," which is used to class all us boys on the East Side” (4). This says that the Socs are on the west side, and the Greasers are on the east side. They have to be there or the story would not happen the way it did. This is why setting matters in The Outsiders.
