         <description><![CDATA[<div>At BCTC an instructional coach is someone who is to bring educational practices into classrooms by working with teachers and other school leaders to provide an increased level of student achievement. This can be accomplished though academic, technology, or trades based techniques to increase student learning abilities, streamline instructional practices, and assist in policy and procedural goals aligned to instruction at BCTC.<br><br>Historically there have been coaches at BCTC which have been focused on literacy and numeracy. The coaches have been embraced in limited fashion depending upon the instructors need or enlightenment to the benefit of using the coach as a resource. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Separating supervision and mentoring is key to building a high performing organization.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br>Principals - supervise. <br>Instructional coaches - mentor / address deficiencies identified by supervisors.&nbsp; The "Framework" is used to begin a conversation with teachers about their planning, practice and instruction. &nbsp; Teachers won't typically admit their deficiencies to a supervisor, however a mentor is uniquely positioned to be an ally and resource for teachers to admit/address their deficiencies.<br>The Instructional coaches follow up on addressing deficient areas of the Framework and building teachers understanding of their responsibilities with regards to the Framework.<br>BCTC is strategically poised to deliver on a super effective supervision/mentoring model!<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Historically at BCTC,  the instructors had access to a literacy coach and a math coach.  The new role of the coach at this point  is not math or literacy per say but one as a collaborative partner in creating the best instructional practice  for the student.  The understanding of this concept will be developed over this year. </div>]]></description>
