layering black and blue giving it a fading effect. I used collage of magazines and acrylic paint for the background and figures. I tried making a dark background to make the figures pop out and put more focus on them. My collage is composed of many clock faces which contrasts with the missing faces on my figures. I decided to draw my figures jumping in mid air to give the feeling of motion and excitement. My reference was a picture of me and my friends jumping in mid air but I changed it by layering extra figures jumping and I changed everyone to have darker clothing so it doesn’t take away from the collage work. I did not give my figures faces because their were already so many faces of the clocks and I felt like it would become too much of a focal point. My goal of the composition was to integrate the figures and the college. A successful element of my painting I think was the figures having the feeling that they can begin to move at any second. I spent the majority of my time creating skin tones that had depth and looked more alive. My first instinct was to block in the fade in with one flat tone , but I forced myself to work in all the flaws and shadows.
