         <description><![CDATA[<div>The minimum information needed to find the volume of a cylinder is to know the radius of the base of the cylinder and the height (assuming it is a regular cylinder). This is because the volume of a cylinder is given by V = (pi)(r^2)(h). Pi is a known value (approximately 3.14), and it is readily available on most calculators. Treating that as a given piece of information, then we simply need to know the radius and the height to finish the calculation.</div>]]></description>

I am trying to think of a situation where you could find the volume with just the radius, because v=pi r squared times height but I think more info would be required.</div>]]></description>

If there are 7 candies, then there would be 3 of one and 4 of the other. The only other options are multiples of 7, which the first would be 14, 21, 28, 35, .... All of the options are multiples of 7 except 15.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To find the volume of a cylinder, I know from previous knowledge, we will need the value of pi, the radius of the cylinder, and the height of the cylinder.  To find the volume, we would multiply pi times the radius squared times the height of the cylinder. The reason we use pi and the radius squared is because we need to find the area of the circular base of the cylinder, which is then multiplied by the height of the cylinder.  This gives us the space occupied by the cylinder, which is volume, by definition. </div>]]></description>

The answer is B. 15, because using the original ratio, 3:4, the total would be 7. I then created an equivalent ratio, 6:8, which has a total of 14. I am noticing that the totals are multiples of 7. 15 is the only number that is not a multiple of 7 and therefore is the correct answer. </div>]]></description>

It can be written as 3x+4x=c where c should be the sum of multiples of 3 and 4. Given the choices, I know that 14 is from 6+8, 28 is from 12+16, and 35 is from 15+20. By elimination, 15 was not eliminated from the choices. Therefore, the total number of candies in the bag can't be 15. :)</div>]]></description>
