Throughout history slaves were used by almost everyone. One of the wonders of the world, "the colosseum", was made by slaves. The only reason the colosseum was utilized, was because of the use of slaves. in the making of the colosseum a-proximally 60,000 jewish slaves were forced to make the colosseum, they built it in 810 years. The colosseum in its prime would capture men and women for battle, to use as entertainment for the spectators. As well as fighting other slaves the gladiators also fought lions, bears and crocodiles and the list goes on.

The Roman Colosseum would flok 100's of thousands of people to rome to watch this spectacle. There would be many events that the colosseum would take part in, depending on the sponsor of that specific day. This could be anything from sea battles to a men fighting a lion. There were secret passages under the sand so when people started to get board they could raise, say a crocodile from the sand using a pulley system, to surprise the spectators and always keeping them on the edge of there set.

For the Colosseum the function properly it needed slaves. The Romans used slaves for everything, from the making of the Colosseum to the participants used in battle for other entertainment. The slaves built the Colosseum in 8-10 years. If this was any other empire it could have taken any where from 100-200 years. Know one's knows how many slaves it took to build it, but it was estimated that it took 60,000 jewish slaves to build.
