I’ve been to a AFL game and it was really fun! I was sitting next to Edie

The text reminds me that some people around the world have been racist and it reminds me of that.

When I did Auskick, I went to a AFL game, Carlton v.s Sydney Swans. It was really fun watching an AFL game for the first time. It was a really fun!

It reminds me of the Common Wealth, the book we read as a class for the same task. It reminds me, because the Common Wealth was about Aboriginals rights in Australia. It was similar because how the Aboriginal flag was missing in the game.

Its mean because why would you take away a persons flag and how it was just mean.

I can connect the text “The day the Aboriginal flag was missing” to the text Commonwealth because they are both about Aboriginal subjects and are talking about something that is definitely unfair.

I can connect this text to myself because it is about AFL (which is a sport)and my cousins love sport and football so I can relate to that.

I can connect this to so many other times things have gotten copyrighted like sometimes even online audios get copyrighted or videos and you can’t use it.

This text is a newspaper so is is full of true facts

My text to text connection is about the aboriginal flag that is now not recognised as our flag. This texts connects to the book Day Break. Because in the book, the dad says no to the kid putting the Australian flag because this reminds them about their history about captain cook invading their land. The quote from the text the day the aboriginal flag went missing “There is a aboriginal campaign to free the flag.” This makes me infer that there are protesting to change the Australian flag. This makes me feel that we should care more about aboriginals flag and know how special it is to them.

My text to world connection is about the protesting. Like my text to text connection people are trying to free the flag. In other words change it to the original flag it was many many years ago. The quote from the text, the day the aboriginal flag went missing “The aboriginal flag wasn’t there.. why?” Also in the text it had a big C standing for copyright because people think the flag is copyrighted so that is why they changed the middle of the football court. This makes me feel sad because they like seeing their own flag, this makes me infer it inspires them.

My text to self connection is about the people in my class also the connections we make from other texts. Firstly, people in my class wants to help the world and change the flag also many other things, well that is what they think about. Secondly the quote “There is a aboriginal campaign/protests to free the flag.” This connects to my connections because I’ve written about protests to change the anthem. I know that they have also been protesting to change the flag to what it used to be. This makes me feel terrible they all the protesting we’ve been doing over the years haven’t even really changed a bit of the flag but we have for the anthem.

This makes me feel happy  because aboriginal people have the same rights as us.

TTT : The both texts Day break and The day the Aboriginal flag was missing from the big AFL Dreamtime game  talks about the aboriginal flag. In this quote “ But there was one thing missing during the whole event. A major part of Aboriginal culture was nowhere to be seen on the ground or on the player’s specially designed team jumpers. And that was the Aboriginal flag. “ shows that the author talks about the aboriginal flag. This makes me feel sad because the company said  AFL had to pay a licencing fee to the company so they can print the flag on the player’s jumpers.

How this text is about an AFL game reminds me of when I went to a soccer match with my sister and dad.

The sentence “There is a campaign by Aboriginal leaders to “Free the Flag” and make it available freely to everyone, just like the Australian flag” makes me think of the protests that go on in the city sometimes.

The sentence “Just like improving our flag” from Common Wealth reminds of this text because of when it said they had to pay a fee for the flag.
