The bigger government museums (like the National Museum, New Delhi & the CSMVS Museum, Mumbai) have their own conservation labs/centres.

A major institution involved in conservation work is the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH).

Fun Fact: In 2019, the CSMVS Museum, Mumbai held an exhibition 'Conserving the Collection: The Practice of Conservation' to showcase the principles, techniques and technology used to conserve art and heritage. The bright yellow balances out the rather dark artworks around it. The yellow adds some hope to the windy seascapes above it. The corner becomes lively. Had it not been there, I would have probably skipped the dull and unwelcoming corner. 

We are told Jim placed the lemon there to echo the yellow dot in the painting on the adjacent wall (Tic Tic by Joan Miro). The choice of a lemon surprised me. What are the chances that I would have thought of placing a lemon alongside such artwork? Zero. 

Perhaps some art doesn’t come in (or need) golden frames - you can find it anywhere and everywhere.
