Accuracy and Authenticity -
Candace Fleming, the author, writes all different different genres. From biographies to picture books, she has a lot of experience with writing. Nonfiction is one of her specialties, which would be something that adds to her credibility as an author. This story provides accurate information about honeybees in a simplistic way that is easy for younger children to understand. The illustrations are detailed and give the reader a clear idea of the facts presented. For example, on the page that talks about the queen bee and the worker bees, there is a clear idea of which one is the queen and the amount of workers there are (page with queen bee and worker bees).

Content and Perspective -
The book was designed with the intention of informing young readers about bees and what an average day looks like for them. It contains facts about the bees' actual bodies and about daily "chores" bees have. There is so much information inside of this book about honeybees. Obviously, there may be some information that is not covered, but there are at least fifteen different and new things young readers could learn within the story. Even as an older audience, there is so much to learn about.

Style -
The information in the story is clear and easy to understand. There is a decent amount of text to read, but it is still presented in a way that is easy to understand. There is new vocabulary available to the reader that can allow a deepening of understanding about honeybees. For example, different parts of the bee are named which can allow the reader to understand which parts are important and how they function.

Organization -
The text is well structured and is found in similar parts of each page. At the end of the book, there is a diagram of a honeybee. It labels the different body parts and describes them well. This diagram is beneficial to the reader. It allows him/her to understand each part of the bee.

Illustrations and Format -
The illustrations are extremely detailed. They need to be so detailed to give the reader a real idea of the different parts of the bee. For example, there are small hairs coming off of the legs of the bees in the illustrations. This is true to a real bee and helps the reader to know that. The bees take up almost the entirety of the pages in order to show detail, but it is common knowledge to know the true size of a honeybee. The illustrations throughout the story do not contain labels, but there is a diagram at the end that provides labels and descriptions of the parts of the bee.
