The furry friend below is my family's puppy. His name is Fossil and he is an extraordinary German Sheppard! I unfortunately don't see him as much as I'd like because he lives with my parents in upstate NY. I currently live in Lancaster, PA with a cat that my boyfriend and I inherited. His name is Ivan. I'm more of a dog person, but cats warm my heart too. This was a recent photo of Ivan...he made himself comfortable in my suitcase. I started this Monday and love it so far! It's been an adjustment as I now work day shift hours instead of night shift hours. (For three years I worked on a child and adolescent inpatient unit on evening shift and then night shift.) I'm looking forward to all the experiences that I will gain from this position! I am the advocates for each client in my caseload. I'm required to schedule individual and family sessions, make treatment plans, develop an aftercare plans, and collaborate closely with the doctor(s), school, outside services, and family. I believe incorporating AAT in counseling or having a therapy dog available for individuals is a useful tool. My ultimate goal would be to become a school counselor and offer AAT services.   • Oddly enough, I enjoy cleaning. It's a stress reliever for me! I function better in a clean and neat area.
