My name is devin collette and i volunteered at clean ocean access. Clean ocean access is a non profit organization that started In 2006 when it became a start up, and in 2014 it became a non profit. In Clean ocean access they protect shoreline access, clean the ocean, clean the beaches, and bring awareness to protecting the environment. They also try to create a clean environment so that animals and people can live on this earth together safely with no pollution. 

On my first day of volunteering, I went to a beach clean up. I was the person that logged the trash. My partner was a nice older lady. We found tons of glass on a big rock that people stood and sat on. We spent most of our time up there. We also found a lot of cigarette butts. 

My second day of volunteering was at the newport marathon. My job was to keep watch of the dunes to make sure no one would walk on them or throw trash on them. -This is where I was.- It was very windy and cold. 

And this is me with food that i got from big boxes that they had for the volunteers and runners. 

It down poured at the end of the marathon so I had to run to the car to leave. 

Clean ocean access is very important because they try to help the environment as much as they can, and they take any volunteers that come to them. So if you are interested in volunteering, look them up! You won’t regret it. Thank you.
