During term-time, we deliver one-day career tasters designed to give students an immersive introduction to their chosen profession. Delivered by top professionals, our Weekend Programmes enable students to gain the foundations of an industry, try their hand at an interactive career simulation, receive career coaching and participate in a live Q&A session.

Weekend Programmes have two intakes per academic year, with dates available on Sundays in November and March. Students can choose to attend the non-residential programmes in-person at UCL in London or live online (UK time zone).

As you come to the end of your time in education, it can be tricky to know what steps to take next. We really get that here at the BBC – how, for example, unless you’ve had actually had a chance to see it, do you know that working in a creative, exciting media organisation, like ours, could be your dream job …?  And if you do already know it’s your dream job, you might be wondering how you go about ‘getting in’!

Whichever point you’re at, our work taster programme could be the opportunity you need to help you with those next steps and decisions. You don’t need any previous experience to apply, but you’re going to get a great experience while you’re with us! Our ‘Get In’ taster day is designed to help you find out a bit more about the variety of career paths on offer and give you a first-hand feel of what the BBC is like as a place to work in your local area.

You will get the chance to spend the day with us at BBC Radio Suffolk and see in person what it’s really like working in a media environment. It’s also an opportunity find out about a variety of jobs across the BBC, and hear from people who do some of those roles in the area in and around where you live.
