  • The Black Panther Party was founded in October 1966 by Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton. They were extremely left leaning, going all the way to Maoism, Marxism and Leninism.   • the landowners sought to make their enslaved completely dependent on the through system of restrictive codes. they had to learn how to read and write, the slaves behavior and movements were restricted.
  • many masters raped enslaved women, and rewareded obdient behavior with favors. In the meantime the rest enslaved people were brutally punished. 
  • Marriages between enslaved men and women had no legal basis but many did marry and raise large families; most owners of enslaved workers encouraged this practice but nonetheless did not usually hesitate to divide families by sale or removal.
