According to Aristotle there was a specific set of virtues needed for someone to be truely happy. These were: Courage, Temperance, Liberality, Magnificence, Magnanimity, Pride, Patience, Truthfulness, Witiness, Friendliness and Modesty.

Also there must be a balance, Aristotle describe two polar extremes, which he referred to as "vices", that a person should not delve in when practicing any of the virtues, let's say when you're having a conversation, your aim is to be witty, without exceeding your humoruos capabilities, i.e. being a bufoon, or lacking humor, i.e. being boorish.

-King Edward has to decide who will be the heir of the crown of England before passing away. But turns out, he did pass away before making it extra clear who exactly was supossed to be the next king. There were 2 main "heirs" in this conflict and someone else:
-Heir #1 was Harold Godwinson, Earl of Wessex, the last living member of the Godwin family, who worked for the royalty.
-Heir #2 was William "The Bastard", Duke of Normandy, who was offered the crown by King Edward.
-Unexpected heir #3 was Harald Hardrada, King of Norway, who claims to have been offered the crown by the King Edward at some point before he died.
In this conflict, Harold Godwinson awaits for William's attack in the southern side of England, but before that, he is notified of a surprise attack all the way in the northeast part of the island, orchestrated by Harald Hardrada. So Harold Godwinson travels as fast as he can to fight Harald and his men before William shows up. Harold wins and kills Harald Hardrada, and returns all the way back to the southern end of the island, along his weakened surviving men to fight William. Once there, Harold's and William's armies fight each other, and Harold is hit in the head by an arrow, killing him, making William "the bastard" into William "The Conqueror".
