Used to help manage pain after surgery and chronic pain for patients who are dependent on and tolerant of opioids.
-Users of fentanyl typically feel a euphoria a little less than the high from heroin. Addiction is very strong. It is estimated to be 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine.
-Fentanyl depresses the respiratory system, decreases the heart rate and blood pressure, and causes constipation. Can be fatal.
REAL LIFE FATAL STORY
-Prince the pop star died in April 2016 from an overdose of fentanyl. Pills containing the drug were discovered in his home in a pill container labeled incorrectly saying "hydrocodone," which is a drug used to help manage pain as well. 
FENTANYL TRENDS:
-Mexican cartels favor fentanyl due to ease in manufacturing and great deals of profit provided by the drug.
-Fentanyl has also been found combined in many other drugs such as cocaine and heroin, where there is a great potential for a unfavorable reaction.
