Bryant began his NBA career in 1996 straight out of high school and spent his entire 20-year career with the Lakers. During his career, he won five NBA championships, two Olympic gold medals, was an 18-time All-Star, and won the NBA's Most Valuable Player Award in 2008. Bryant retired from the NBA in 2016 and focused on his second life after the NBA with business ventures and philanthropy.


In one of the most tragic events in recent memory, Kobe passed away on January 26, 2020, in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people. He left behind a legacy as one of the most talented and most looked-up to athletes in history. 

The reason why I choose Kobe as one of my personal brands for inspiration is because he is my favorite NBA player ever. He was the reason why I started watching basketball at the younger age of 9 and became a huge fan of him and the Lakers to this day. His mindset of how he goes about his work every day during his 20-year career was so inspiring and every time I need a pick me up I either read his book or watch videos of him talking to a crowd about his work ethic that goes beyond basketball and talks about life and how we can apply it to our lives if we so choose.
