Militarism: European nations raced to build armies and navies that were larger than ever before.

Alliances: To protect themselves, nations raced to form new allies.

Imperialism: Countries thought about taking over other countries.

Nationalism: Countries thought they were better than other countries.

-The Lusitania: The Germans sank our ships with their u-boats

- The Zimmerman Note: Germany to Mexico offering Mexico a return of territory in exchange for declaring war on the United States

- The Sussex: The Germans sunk this ship to and many Americans were on it

- Allies: Our allies got involved and pulled us in

The Selective Service act stated- that all men in the ages between 21 and 30 had to sign up to be drafted for war.

The Committe of public information- They basically told what was joing on in the war, in the battles, and in the trenches.

The espionage act- This act limited people's rights to speak against war.

The sediction act- This is when the government took action to supply the troops.
