Today, we went on an excursion and experienced the fantastic nature surrounding Guadeloupe. We discussed the major ecosystem that Le Grand Cul-De-Sac-Marin represents and how each of us worldwide can contribute to better care for our environment. I am delighted to have the opportunity to explore this incredibly beautiful area, and I believe that if our students could witness UNESCO World Heritage Sites firsthand, they would all act more responsibly on a global scale.

During the trip, each of us had a task that we will present to each other tomorrow. My competence area is Personal, Social, and Learning to Learn competence. I look forward to hearing about the group's ideas tomorrow. On this journey, we have once again enjoyed each other's company, and I am grateful to have gotten to know all of you. Thank you for an absolutely fantastic day.

Today was a great trip! What amazing places and scenic nature! How great it is that mankind strives to preserve our world, nature, flora and fauna. I really liked the little crabs that carried their little shells on their backs.

It amazes me that Guadeloupe is very clean, despite the large number of tourists, very clean water in the ocean and sea. And it is especially nice to swim because the water is very warm.

Today we visited Le Grand Cul-De-Sac Marin nationalpark which is classified World Biosphere Reserve from UNESCO. It was interesting to hear about how the storms are changing the environment. Hugo 1989 really made his footprint in the area. It erased an island and made a new one. Then I have learned a lot about the flora and fauna. E.g. the Fregat-bird cannot be wet, has a wingspan of 1.5 m and only weights 600 gr. The fishermen were looking for if the Fregat-bird would fly back from the sea, because it could be a sign of bad weather. I also learned that the mangrove forests produce 4-times as much oxygen compared with Amazon jungle. The life underwater was incredible and also worth of worshipping. I have got a lot of ideas for, how you in the school can work with this nationalpark. Rita learned us, why it is important to take of the nature and how we people should to be more aware of the consequences of our actions. Not only local but global. Thank you for a nice day 🙃

Today I learned that being “on location” when teaching is really important because the topic becomes so obvious. The biosphere in the lagoon inspires to many different learning situations.

It has been great to to visit and to experience the UNESCO world biosphere area here in Guadeloupe. I realised that it is so important to step into the real world when we wish our students to understand e.g. our climate challenges.

The mangroves are very special and I find the fact about how they transfer carbon dixide into oxygen amazing and important.

The world is in deed really fascinating.

Thank to you all for being fantastic company and partners.

Today has been truly special with fantastic experiences in Grand Cul-de-sac Marin.

My reflections have revolved around the Entrepreneurship Competence and the opportunity to involve students in this area, which offers a fantastic chance to develop entrepreneurial skills, particularly addressing issues related to sustainable tourism. How can the 17 Sustainable Development Goals be applied in the context of ecotourism and sustainable tourism in Grand Cul-de-sac Marin?

I envision that, as a starting point, students can research the unique ecosystem of Grand Cul-de-sac Marin and understand its vulnerable nature. This will serve as the foundation for developing innovative ideas and business concepts that respect and protect the local environment. For instance, students can identify opportunities for tourism activities that promote sustainability, such as ecotours with a clear focus on conveying the necessity of preserving local nature in collaboration with the local culture and workforce. Tourism can have multiple layers and a clearer language regarding choices and exclusions in the offerings presented to tourists. The students knowledge of ecoturism and the presevation of the nature in Le Grand Cul-De-Sac Marin can helt "turn ideas into action in personal, social and professional activities".

To integrate the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, students can design their projects in our project-based learning (PBL) modules, with a focus on goals such as life below water, life on land, and partnerships for action. They can incorporate the principles of sustainable development by ensuring social justice, economic viability, and environmental protection. Skills strategic thinking and problem-solving can result in creative processes and innovation.

In their coursework, students can develop business plans that emphasize circular economy principles, responsible consumption and production, as well as the preservation of biodiversity. This will not only provide them with an understanding of sustainable business practices but also strengthen their entrepreneurial skills and ability to create positive changes in society.

Working on ecotourism and sustainable tourism in Grand Cul-de-sac Marin gives students a practical opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a way that benefits both society and the environment. This project will not only enhance their business skills but also give them a deeper understanding and attitudes of the importance of sustainability and global cooperation.

Looking forward to hearing the group's reflections and ideas tomorrow.

Best regards Thomas

Today’s session can go under the name the wonders of nature. The Grand Cul de Sac Marin - Réserve naturelle et Écoturisme really amazed me. It’s such a wonderful place and fool of biodiversity.

Once again we, the human beings, need to think about the importance of preserving nature and the natural habitats for the balance of biodiversity. Preserving nature is our duty and unfortunately, either by human hands or by the power of natural phenomena, nature is being destroyed and modified, what leads to lack of environmental balance.

Today we were immersed in a splendid nature that makes us reflect on the importance of preserving the environment and, above all, teaching how to preserve nature and being aware that we need it to survive.
Over the last few years, we have seen in young people a greater concern about defending the environment, drawing attention to environmental problems and taking action in the community, which, I think, is done a lot in schools through various actions and the creation of clubs such as Eco schools in Portugal.
It is important that students have contact with nature, get to know the place where they live and learn through on-site visits to be able to experience reality and then be able to act with knowledge of the facts.

Today's educational visit to a natural reserve the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin lagoon is my first experience of communication and interaction with several ecosystems at one time. I descovered mangroves, swamp forests, seagrass beds and coral reefs with all their flora and fauna, including fish, crustaceans, molluscs and birds - all protected by UNESCO. The lagoon is dotted with islands of Carenage, Blank, Ka Bicher, Caret, Fajou, Christophe and Macou.I was especially impressed by the fact that Caret was initially inhabited by a fisherman and his family for about 25 years, but now it's a small sandbar covered by young vegetation, and access to the island is strictly prohibited. It's an excellent example to follow how we all should preserve the fragile natural environment.

Sorry for the absence of pics - the phone is out of order.
