We enjoyed making colorful artwork today. We used the dropper to get some colorful paint and drip it around the paper towel. We realized that we had to squeeze the handle of the dropper to get a lot of paint. Moreover, this activity really helped in enhancing the small muscles in our hands and wrists.

We played with the calming bottle with water, gel, and loom bands inside. We observed how some bubbles are formed and how the loom bands moved inside the bottle before and after we shook it.

We did another mess-free activity today. We enjoyed mixing the paint inside the ziplock bags using different methods, such as using the squeegee to move the paint and pounding, kneading, and squeezing them using our small hands.

I was able to play with the water today. When I first saw the colorful papers, I immediately grabbed the bowl full of ripped papers and put all of them in the water. I had fun seeing them get soaked and float in the water. This made me remember doing laundry. So when I told the  teachers about it, we pretended to laundry some clothes and the laundry toy kits. 

I was able to play and explore the light table. It's interesting to see the different geometric shapes, like rectangles, circles, and squares. I was amused after seeing how the colors in each shape brightened up because of the light coming from the light table. Other than looking at the colors and shapes, I tried to align and line up the geometric shapes and toy cars to see if they could all fit inside the light table.

In this activity, I made some fluffy paint. With the help of my teachers, I added the ingredients by squeezing the bottle of glue, spraying the shaving cream, putting colorful paint on it, and mixing all of it inside the container.

Once I was done making the fluffy paint, I used them to make our fluffy paint art. I used my creativity to use the paint I made by spreading the paint on plain paper using the brush.

I tried making some really cool-colored ice cubes. My teachers helped me hold the bottle as I poured the colored water into the ice tray so I could see what colored ice would look like. It was pretty neat!

The activity really made me feel like I was on a rescue mission. I had to save some toy animals by pulling tape off them. Getting all that sticky tape off really helped strengthen my fingers. I also got to touch different textures when I peeled it off. It took some focus to get it all!

During the art time, I painted on some cardboard. I wanted to see how well the paint would soak into it. I splashed and splattered colors all over until the cardboard was a big, colorful masterpiece. It was a blast getting to paint freely like that. What a fun day I had at school!

Today, we did some gak-making and explored it afterward. We took turns scooping cornstarch and pouring in water, but the best part was mixing it all together. The feeling of the smooth, sticky gak is really nice. We tried grabbing it, but it kept slipping through our fingers. That's why we just used spoons, cups, and bowls to pick it up. It was totally fun!

Playing with Sago in the sensory bin was so much fun too. We scooped it up with spoons, put it in cups, and moved it back and forth between bins. It felt new to us but we explored it by squeezing and feeling the sticky sago through our fingers.

I did the "walking water" experiment today! I used some tissues and put them in between the cups full of colored water. It was so amazing to watch the colored water get absorbed, and it really looked like it was "walking" from one cup to another.

We did some really cool experiments and activities today. First, we did a fizzy rainbow experiment where we put baking soda in a jar and poured different colored vinegar. We watched the fizzy rainbows pop out—it was so amazing to see! There was a bit of a sour smell, but it was still fun doing it. After that, we did an animal rescue mission where we had to save animals trapped in ice by squirting water on them with squirt bottles. Squeezing those bottles really helped strengthen our hands. It was also nice to play with water by splashing it around the bin.

We had fun scooping the gems using the big and small shovels. The gems came in all sorts of colors, too. It was so much fun watching them move around whenever we mixed them up in the bowl. When we scooped the gems from one bowl to another, it made an interesting sound. It was pretty nice listening to it. 

We got to play around in the water with floating leaves. It was so cool to see all the different green leaves. It was also interesting to know that when we crushed the leaves, they made a crunching sound.

We played with the snowman bottles. We tossed and shot cotton balls into it, trying to fill it up. With all the cotton balls inside, it did start to look like a white snowman!

We did another art activity using paint and a fork. The fork served as our paintbrush; we dipped it in the paint and then brushed lines and marks onto the paper. It was cool to see the patterns it left behind.

We had fun making the graham balls. First, we crushed up some Graham crackers in zip-lock bags using small mallets. Then we poured them into a bowl and added milk before mixing it all. The mixing was a little tricky since it got sticky and looked different. We still tasted them and were surprised by how sweet and yummy they were.

The Gingerbread Man looks so cold; that's why we drew him some clothes using different colored markers to make them more pretty and colorful.

We made pizza bread using tomato sauce, bread, cheese, and a little sugar. The sweet and sour taste of adding sugar to the sauce was new to us. We spread the sauce on bread and topped it with lots of cheese before baking it. It was so yummy!

We explored some Christmas sensory bins. It felt so cool to rub the cotton balls in our hands before tossing them into snowman bottles. We also had fun playing with crepe paper—hiding things under it, tearing it, wearing it on our heads, and even throwing it up like snow!

​We explored colorful sensory bins like sparkles during New Year's Eve. There are different kinds of paper and colors inside the bin and what excites us are the hidden animals that we had to look for. We found a dog and some ducks! 

We explored colorful sensory bags on top of the light table. There were blue, red, and yellow sensory bags; we enjoyed touching and feeling them with our hands. We were engaged while watching the movement of the colored water inside the bag.

​We explored colored pasta today! We used a tong to get the pasta from the bin and transferred it to the bowl. The tools we used helped us to develop our fine-motor strength and coordination. 

We used big tongs to get the pompoms from the bin. We practiced our eye-hand coordination by trying to shoot the pompoms inside the bottle. 

We made a New Year postcard by doing water resist art. We used a brush and paint to color the paper but we were surprised to see the hidden message and design of the paper. We had so much fun doing this activity!

We did something fun today and it was popping bubble wrap. We used our hands, fingers, and other tools to pop the bubble wrap. We enjoyed feeling the bubble wrap and how it sounded as we popped it.

We tried cutting the colored paper using a pair of scissors. We explored how to use a pair of scissors. Some of us made snips, some of us used both hands and some of us tried other ways to cut the paper using our hands.

Today we did a little experiment to figure out what material could make a mark on the paper. We tried making marks using pencils, tissues, water, colored glass, and crayons. We discovered that the pencil, water, and crayons can make marks on paper but the tissue and the colored glass don't. We are excited to know what else can we use to make marks.

We explored different materials that can make a mark inside a big bin. We tried using chalk, crayons, dot art, twigs, rollers, stamps, and markers. We enjoyed seeing different colors as we used different materials. We also thought that the markers, crayons, and chalk make marks if we dipped them in the paint.

For our art activity today, we explored more color and texture by pasting different kinds of paper. We used colored paper, crêpe paper, metallic paper, cellophane, and glue to make a colorful collage. 

We enjoy making marks on paper. Today, we did a scribble activity, but this time on a big paper taped on the floor. What made it exciting was that we used different kinds of crayons to make marks. We used big crayons, car crayons, egg crayons, and shaped crayons. We did a lot of different arm and hand movements to make marks on the paper.

​​We used a lot of our senses during this activity. We used our sense of sight to scoop and transfer the coffee ground into the ice cubes. We also used our noses to smell the aroma of the coffee grounds. Lastly, we used our sense of touch to feel the coffee parts on the different parts of our body, like our hands, arms, legs, and feet.

We did a sorting activity using colored bears. We tried to put each bear on the plate based on their color. We used tongs and our hands to sort.

 We enjoyed popping the bubble wrap, but today we had more fun exploring by painting it. We used a paintbrush and paint to put color on the bubble wrap. We saw the colors mixing as we painted the bubble wrap. 

Our sensory play today is beans inside a bin. We transferred the beans from one bin to the other by scooping one using a spoon. Aside from spoons, we also use our hands to feel and transfer the beans.

We did a sorting activity by sorting different toys based on their color. We tried identifying colors by putting the toys on the paper attached to the floor according to their color. Red and blue are easy for us to recognize. 

We are investigating making marks on different surfaces. Today, we scribbled on the mirror using different colored markers. The mirror inside our classroom is big and we also did big arm and hand movements while making marks. We tried drawing our faces and shapes.

For our Art exploration today, we did stamping. We use foam stamps and paint to make marks on our paper. We tried stamping different animals and vehicles. We also explored the stamp by trying to brush it on our papers.

Today, I did scribbling on sandpaper taped on our mirror inside the room. I used craypas and markers to make marks. I found out that markers can leave a mark on both mirror and sandpaper but the mark of the craypas is not very visible on the mirror.

Time to develop my small muscles by trying to pull a clothespin from a string. I use my fingers and both of my hands to pull the clothespin on the string and our clothes.

We always love exploring sensory bins. Today, we explored chia seeds soaked in water. This mixture gave a different texture that was slimy. We used a scooper to scoop some of the chia seeds and transfer them to the other bowl. 

For my art activity, I did something a little bit different from painting because I used a fork as a brush. I dipped the fork into the paint and pressed it on the paper. I also like mixing different colors of paint.

For our sensory play, we explored colored jello by transferring it from one bin to another using a scooper or our hands. We also tried mixing the two colors of jello in one bin. The feeling of the jello on our hands felt slimy and slippery.

Aside from making marks, we also like activities that surprise us. Today, we found a bin full of beans and as we explored it, we found different letters. It felt like we were on a treasure hunt because the letters were pieces of the puzzle and we tried to complete it.

For our art activity, we did press printing. First, we scribbled on the foil using markers then we sprayed alcohol on our scribbles. After that, we put a plain white paper on top of the foil and pressed it to transfer the colors from the foil to the paper. We were fascinated by the colors on our paper and we wanted to do more.

To practice our gross motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and balance, we transported paper cups using a stick. We used the stick to hook the paper cup and transfer it to the bin.

We tried drawing and writing on sand inside the bin using our fingers. We also tried using sticks and other toys like vehicles and musical instruments. We enjoyed exploring the texture of the sand.

For our art activity, we did painting using coffee grounds. We used a paintbrush to paint on a white paper. We felt the different textures of our creation using our fingers and hands.

We did a little experiment today. We tried making marks using crayons and markers on different materials like plastic bags, whiteboard, brown paper, bond paper, and foil. We observed if the markers and crayons can make marks on different materials and surfaces. We found out that both crayons and markers can make marks however the marks from the crayons were not that visible on some materials like plastic bags, whiteboard, and foil.

We went to play outdoors today! We tried making marks on the floor and grass using paint in a squirt bottle. We squeezed the bottle to squirt the water on the floor and grass. We observed that the colors are more visible on the floor than the grass but we prefer squirting the bottle to the grass because we are pretending to water it.

We did something fun today. We tried mixing colors of the colored shaving foam. We used our feet and hands to mix the colors between the plastic covers.

We used random little loose parts and objects to make an egg shaker. We tried filling it with beans, seeds, bottle caps, jewels, and pompoms, then shaking it to see which of the objects might make sounds.

It's almost Valentine's Day, that is why we made a small gift for our loved ones by preparing a letter. We even added more decorations by scribbling and drawing on them.

Today, we did a mark-making activity. We scribbled around the paper with our crayons as we listened to some songs. When a soft, slow sound was heard, we moved by scribbling softly and gently; when a fast, loud sound was heard, we scribbled hard and strongly.

We made another mark-making activity using brushes with bells attached to them. It's fascinating to see and hear the bell sounds every time we move our brush to dip it in paint or use it on paper. That's why we tried shaking our paintbrushes repeatedly.

We decorated the heart-shaped piece of paper by pasting some small, torn papers. We had fun dipping the brush in glue and spreading it all over our paper. It was fascinating to feel the sticky texture of the glue on our fingers and hands.

Water play was our favorite activity. We even found different ways to play with water. We tried filling the watering can to water the grass, pouring a lot of water to make the water turbine, and even showering ourselves in it. Playing outside and splashing some water around was very enjoyable.

We made some bridges by connecting different wooden blocks and then tried to make the marbles roll down. Connecting them at first was a bit challenging, but it became easier after doing it repeatedly.

We used dot markers to create another piece of artwork. Pounding the marker and seeing the dots and small splatters of paint it left on the paper was amusing. In addition, we enjoyed listening to music and the sound that the markers produced when we stamped it.

We looked at pictures today that showed different body movements. Then, we tried to mimic their movements by stretching our arms and legs, putting our hands together, raising our legs, and so on. It was an enjoyable activity as we moved our big muscles together with our friends.

We used the foam blocks, building towers out of them, creating walls that the toy cars could crash through, and measuring our height with them. It was also fun to watch it bounce a little when you threw or kicked it. 

We used some water and shredded paper to do a sensory activity. We threw the pieces of paper into the water and observed how they absorbed the water. We even wondered how to remove those clinging and sticking to our hands and fingers. 

We followed along the straight and zigzag lines by walking and running on them. We even used it as a road as we pushed and pulled our cars and other toys. This activity helped us with our balance as we transition to balancing to higher heights soon.

Today, while we played with the toy cars inside the goopy sensory bin, we examined their sticky yet smooth texture. It was also more enjoyable to play with it because of the food color that we mixed and sprinkled inside it.

We used the poker chips to explore in several ways, including stacking them to create a tower, shaking them to make random sounds and noises, hiding them somewhere, and transporting them using toy cars. 

We celebrated our learnings today by having a gallery walk as we concluded our investigation on mark-making. We displayed our artwork, which included ball painting, roller painting, scribbling, stamping, dot arts, painting, and pasting. Then we invited our parents and guardians to visit and view them. We hope everyone enjoyed this celebration as much as we did!

By pushing and rolling a ball, we could knock down the pins when we were bowling. Seeing the pins fall was exciting, particularly when we managed to get a strike. Also, listening to the bowling ball's sound, we tried to make it bounce by gently tapping and throwing it on the floor.

To make the balloons float and bounce, we used a fly swatter with a paper plate attached. We tried to catch and hit it while making sure it wouldn't drop and touch the ground. This activity helped in enhancing our control over the movements of our hands and arms.

We had a good time today shooting some ball pit balls into different containers. We also played with it in various ways, such as using varied angles, distances, and forces to shoot them, walking along the lines on the floor before shooting them, and using a pingpong racket to bounce the balls.

We made a paper ball during our activity by crumpling the paper into a ball. The paper ball was then painted with vibrant and colorful designs using paint and a paintbrush. It did not only refine our small muscles, but we used our creativity as well. 

Since we have been interested in balls lately, our art activity today is related to balls because we stuck circles on paper using a brush and glue. We used the brush to spread the glue on our paper using different colored circles. 

We used balls, water, and kitchen tools for our sensory activity. We tried transferring the balls to the basket using a strainer, ladle, and pasta scooper. Aside from the balls, we also put other stuff inside the bin like animals and our toy food.

We did something exciting today. We played with a suction ball using a paddle. It was played by two players. One player will throw the ball, the other will try to catch it using the paddle. We were curious about how the suction ball stuck to the paddle.

For our art activity, we used japanese paper and water. We sprayed and brushed water on the paper and put different colors of japanese paper on top of it. The japanese paper left a stain, and we were surprised to see different ball drawings.

The sticky ball is one of our activities today. We tried sticking balls on the wall with tape by throwing, tossing, or just by putting the balls using our hands.

We scooped some numbers and letters for our sensory activity. We used tongs to scoop numbers and letters, and we tried identifying them. We also liked lining the numbers and letters we got on the edge of the sensory bin.

Our teachers gave us pieces of paper to tear and crumple using our hands. We did this repeatedly until we only had small pieces of paper and put them inside the basket. This activity helped us exercise our small muscles and coordination skills.

We moved like a ball today by bouncing. During Circle Time, our teacher showed us how to drop the ball on the floor, and we saw it bounce. We copied the bouncing ball by bouncing our bodies, hands, heads, and even our hair.

We always enjoy shooting balls in different containers and rings. Today, instead of balls, we shoot our bodies through hoops and tubes. We did different ways of how our bodies could fit the hoops and tunnel, like bending our upper body, head, and knees. We also used our hands, arms, and legs to go through the tube. 

The ball pit is probably our favorite outdoor activity today. Playing our favorites, which are water and balls, in one area, is the best thing. We enjoyed exploring balls inside the mini pool with water. We liked collecting the balls near us and then splashing them afterward.

Other than movements, we can also use balls for art. Today, we did ball painting by dipping the ball in the paint and rolling it on a long sheet of paper. We used primary colors for this activity, and we liked how it turned out. 

For our sensory activity, we explored edible sand made of flour and chocolate powder. We transferred the sand from the bin to the bowl by scooping using a small spoon. We also played with different construction vehicles like excavators, dump trucks, and bulldozers.

Today, we moved like a ball by rolling our whole body, hands, and arms. We enjoyed doing this movement repeatedly and pretending that we were a ball. When rolling our arms and hands, we did it slow and fast. Moving our whole body made us stretch those muscles to make us stronger and explore how our bodies can move.

After dancing using scarves, we relaxed our bodies by doing different yoga poses while breathing properly. We did age-appropriate poses and enjoyed quiet time. Yoga not only helps us make our growing bodies more flexible, but it also helps us regulate our emotions and makes us more mindful of our bodies.

This week we explored different movements that we can do using props. Today, we used scarves as props and  danced to the song Can't Stop the Feeling. We had so much fun moving the scarves by flapping, rolling, shaking, and waving not only the scarves but our whole body.

For this activity, we used squishy balls to knock down the red cups. Originally, we needed to kick the balls to knock down the cups, but we discovered that it was easier to throw the ball to hit the target. We also like stacking red cups on top of each other.

We explored mud made of chocolate powder, flour, and water today by playing with the farm animals inside the bin. We also asked for a scooper to bathe the animals using the mud. We were engaged and creative in discovering what we could do with the mud we have today.

We are currently preparing for the upcoming Easter celebration. For our art today, we did scribbling on a big egg using crayons and markers. We did circular, wavy, and curvy strokes using different colors on different parts of the egg. For this activity, we were able to strengthen our small muscles and develop our eye-hand coordination.

Another fun way to develop our small muscles and practice our eye-hand coordination is by scooping colored rice and transferring it into containers. Aside from developing our fine-motor movements with this activity, we practiced our patience as we tried to fill the bottles with rice.

​Another Easter activity that we did was to paint the eggs . Our creativity was put to the test as we used different colors to decorate the eggs using different strokes and directions of the paintbrush.

We let out our energy today through full-body exercise. Our teacher led the routine of the exercise, and we tried following it, but we also did our movements like leg raise-ups and curling-ups. We also tried following a simple exercise video for kids.

There was an oval shape on the floor inside our classroom. Our teacher asked us what we could do and put inside the oval. We enjoyed doing different movements in the oval like jumping in and out, moving the buses on the edge, and putting different toys inside like blocks, animals, and even the scarves that we used the other day. This activity did not only move our bodies but also developed our problem-solving skills.

Once again, we explored colored rice today but this time we transferred it inside an egg using tongs. It was a bit challenging because the grains were too small for the tongs. We also tried getting the pompoms and putting them inside the eggs. 

In celebration of Easter, we did an easter egg and bunny hunt in the outdoor area. Each one of us looked for one bunny loot bag and one easter egg hidden all over the outdoor area. We also explored the obstacle course. It was indeed a fun way to end the week!

Today, we figured out what we could do with two different chairs, a small and a big chair. We tried sitting on both chairs. The big chair was too high for us, so we lifted our bodies and climbed to sit down. This also taught us to find ways how we can sit on a chair, which developed our problem-solving skills.

We created artwork using cotton buds as our painting tool. By ensuring that we painted only within the borders, we refined our control and force in wrist and hand movements.

We used and compared two brooms of different sizes. We used them to clean and sweep the floor, and we found out that, although the larger broom was a bit heavier, it was more enjoyable to use than the smaller one.

We attempted to shoot random loose parts into various bottles. As we shot them inside, we then came to realize that not every part could fit inside the bottles; that's why we did not add more to those that had stuck parts.

We attempted to balance the small ball pit balls in different-sized bottles and tissue tubes. We discovered that balancing it in those with larger holes was simpler than in those with smaller ones. This activity also helped to improve our focus and attention as we made sure to balance the balls properly.

Today, we engaged in a new art activity using paint and popsicle sticks as our materials. We utilized the popsicle sticks to create and scribble random lines and dots on the colored paper.

In this activity, we employed a variety of methods to explore and retrieve the pompoms from the ice. These methods included smashing them using wooden blocks, rubbing them with our hands, dropping them inside the bin, and blowing on them to melt the ice.

We enjoyed shooting the ring into the orange traffic cones. We shot it from different directions, with varying forces and proximity. From this, we realized that we can shoot it better and more accurately when we are near the cones.

Since we are focusing on body movements, we also engaged in gross motor activities such as walking on the low beam. To maintain our balance, we attempted to hold onto the wall or our teacher's hand. We even gave our full focus and attention to avoid falling from the beam.

There were two different sizes of bottles presented to us by our teachers. While exploring the bottles, we attempted to lift each water bottle and discovered that it was harder to lift the larger bottle due to its greater volume of water, whereas the smaller one contained less water.

There were many activities we undertook while exploring the colored sand, which was made of sugar, baking soda, sprinkles, and food coloring. We attempted to mold it into small flower-shaped forms, filled small dump trucks to transfer it to another bin, felt and squeezed the sand with our hands, and used spoons to mix, scoop, and pour it into the bins.

Similar to the activity that we did this week, we experimented with wearing our slippers today. When we wore the small pair of slippers, we found that moving around was simpler than when we wore the larger ones that our teachers or other grownups use. We also discovered that the smaller one weighs less and is lighter than the larger one.

For our art activity, we used droppers to add watercolor to our tie-dye artwork. Seeing the colorful dots, lines, and other marks we created with our wipes was very amusing. In addition, using the droppers enhances our fine motor skills, especially in the force and control areas. 

One of our favorite classroom activities was water play, and today we did a related activity where we used tongs to pinch bottle caps and then move them from one bin to another. We enjoyed it because we could now use the tongs correctly with ease.

 We explored a new sensory activity in which we had to search inside the paper filler bin for alphabet letters. After finding a letter, we attempted to identify it by name and sound before placing it in its correct position in the puzzle.

This week, we incorporated body movements into our dramatic play activities. As part of this, today we pretended to wipe and polish a mirror filled with scribbles. After spraying some water and using a towel to rub them off, we finally removed the scribbles. We moved our arms and hands in different directions and speeds. With the scribbles gone, we were pleased to see our reflections more clearly.

 Today, we decorated and colored paper with the first letter of our names printed on it. This activity helped us improve our hand and wrist coordination while drawing, as well as our ability to recognize and associate the name and sound of our own names

We enjoyed pretending to sweep up the torn and scattered papers on the floor as well as doing the laundry. While using the broom was straightforward, keeping the papers in one spot proved tricky. Nevertheless, it was delightful to see the floor clean and tidy.

Our focus this week was to practice self-care through movement, so we practiced putting on and taking off socks. Although taking them off was simple, wearing them was tough, but at least with our teacher's help, we now know how to do it.

We also used brushes and combs to style our hair. We found it challenging at first to brush them ourselves, but with our teachers' assistance, it became simpler. Watching our hair straighten and look better was an exciting sight. This activity not only promotes proper grooming practices but also offers a chance for connection, learning moments, and instills self-care and responsibility.

We did a stamping art activity using sponges and paints. With every dip and dab, we brought our imaginations to life, creating vibrant masterpieces filled with joy and wonder. Through this hands-on activity, we not only expressed ourselves but also developed important skills like hand-eye coordination and creative thinking

Using the soup ladles, we played with the toy animals by taking them out of the colored water and putting them in the other bin. By doing this, we were able to practice better control over the water and the toys we scooped and poured out of the ladle.

We also practiced filling the cups with water from the pitcher today. It was challenging to make sure the water wouldn't spill, but by practicing them again, even at home, we gain the confidence to do it properly next time

Practicing with our own utensils helps foster independence, fine motor skill development, and confidence-building. While our movements may initially be wobbly attempts, through continued practice, even at home, we can soon master eating with utensils. So here's to messy faces, dropped spoons, and endless patience

Engaging in a Jello sensory activity is more than just a messy adventure; with every squish, squeeze, scoop, and pour of the Jell-O, it enhances discovery, imagination, and sensory exploration. It also provides an opportunity to learn about texture, temperature, and cause-and-effect, sparking curiosity and creativity 

What is Inside the Toddler Classroom?

Today, we did some sort of immersion in the toddler classroom, particularly the Yellow Room, located across our classroom.

We explored several areas and aspects such as the size of the room, types of equipment and materials, the children, and the toys they have in the classroom. Additionally, we had the opportunity to interact and play with the children in the Yellow Room.

It's been a while since we did water play. Today, for our tactile sensory activity, we explored loose parts sensory soup. We tried scooping the toys from the bin with water using different tools like a measuring cup and a strainer.
