In 2019 I went to live in São Paulo and I sold my apartment in Rio de Janeiro because I didn't think about going back to live in Rio. I bought an apartment in São Paulo and after 3 years I decided to return to Rio. I rented my apartment there but I had to lived with my parents for 5 months with my daughters until I found an apartment to buy in Rio. It was not easy to share a room with a small closet for three and also I had to scratch a living for a while. Well, the despite that, we managed to mature a lot with the experience and for my parents it was wonderful to have us around again.

In 2019, I went to Curitiba to compete in my first national American football championship. Days before, I asked my parents for money so I could eat there on the trip. My parents only gave me 200 reais, and as we all know, food on the road is very expensive. On the way back, we stopped at Graal, where I met a guy who was in need, as he was having difficulties finding a job and was scratching a living. Even though I had little money, I bought him a bag of rice so he could eat.

During the pandemic, it became way more visible the difficulties of my country in terms of job opurtunities and economy. Because of the fact that people couldn't go out of their houses. A lot of shopping places and markets closed, which also means that a lot of people were scratching a living and looking for a job and keep themselves healthly and safe. Even after the pandemic there are people who couldn't find a work and are still unemployed. Also, the number of people who live on the streets grew a lot. Everytime I walk on the street, I see many people who are really scratching a living everyday. It's terrible.

When I graduated, I started working in a pet shop and other small veterinary clinics. I worked for three years that way and almost made no money at all. I didn't have the maturity to understand that at the beginning it would be difficult and I decided to leave the veterinarian because I thought that that profession didn't make good money. I started working on other things, got some money, but again not enough. I realized I needed to do postgraduate to grow and stop scratching a living. I completed my postgraduate studies in veterinary orthopedics and things started to improve, but I'm still far away from where I want to be.

Life breaks our legs on several occasions. Sometimes we come across problems in our work and we have to overcome them because we need to have money to keep our household bills. My father, for example, went through a difficult situation. He had a good salary with commissions and suddenly the store went bankrupt. His salary was reduced for some time to 60%. We had to Scratch a living for a while but he didn't give up. He worked hard and got a new job with better pay and the situation got a lot better.

After 9 years at a company, I decided to leave because I receive a proposal to work in another company, but right then the "Operation car wash" crisis came. Several contracts were suspended due to lack of payment. Many employees were fired and other had difficulties. The company together with its staff had to scratch a living and hope for better days ahead.
