The most birarre excuse i have heard of someone being late is they dont know the way to the place. This is intolerable, as it is their responsibility to check the route earlier, they should not pass the buck. Also, if you are not familiar with the place, you ought to leave your house much early. Not knowing how to go the place is not a pretext for being late.

the most creative excuse I have heard is that his/her grandparent is dead. And he/she has to call an ambulance.So he/she is late because of that.However,he/she seems to have lots of grandparents as he/she uses this excuse for many many many times.

Last time when I hanged out with my friend, my friend was late for two hours. She explained that it wasn't her fault as her cat was gone at the time when she almost went out.
