This place is a memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe
On the site covering 19000 square meters, 2711 concrete slabs of different heights are placed, giving the entire place a wave effect. The sheer size of the installation and its lack of a central point of remembrance call into question the conventional concept of a memorial. This creates a place of remembrance, but not with the usual means. below the memorial is and Information center underground, which is accessible via two flights of stairs or a lift. This place is very significant as it is a memorial of what happened during WW2. The overall design of this place is very interesting and hence I would highly recommend you to visit it.

The Brandenburg Gate is one of the most iconic sights in today's vibrant Berlin. Berlin's most famous historic landmark is the Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor), once a symbol of a divided nation and now a symbol of unity and peace. This Neoclassical gate was commissioned by King Frederick Wilhelm II in 1788, and its design was inspired by the Propylaea in Athens' Acropolis. The sandstone monument is 26 meters tall, standing in the Mitte district's Pariser Platz, just a block from the Reichstag building.

During the Cold War, its physical and symbolic position as a blocked gate along the Berlin Wall made it a frequent site for demonstrations by West Berliners, and it is famous for being the backdrop of US President Ronald Reagan's 1987 entreaty to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the wall.

Since its opening in 1970 Europe's third-tallest freestanding structure has attracted over 60 million visitors, most of them drawn for the spectacular views over Germany's capital. It was originally constructed to mark the prowess of communism. In English, it's called the TV Tower, and its so tall that it can be seen from almost every corner in the city, making it more significant as a symbol of the city's reunification in the 1980s.

This was once home to Sophie Charlotte, the first Queen Consort in Prussia, who was not only an accomplished musician, playing the harpsichord and singing Italian opera, but also strolled through the grounds here with her friend, the renowned scholar and philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. When Sophie Charlotte died, just 36 years old, the palace and the area around was named Charlottenburg after her. Today, this is the largest and most magnificent palace in Berlin – a highlight for any Berlin visitor.
