This is a very good question! I think as a teacher it is important not to rely on technology everyday in your classroom. Technology can help implement your lesson in a fun way, but it is important you do not over use it. With the use of creative online apps you can create fun games yourself that reflect all the content you have covered. Overall, I think technology can be very beneficial as long as you do not use it to manage your classroom.

I think the key to keep students engage with technology is to not provide it on the daily. Reward them with something fun to do every two days or so. Technology is required to complete assignments and submit assignments but every so often students can be rewarded with a fun learning game.

Technology Boredom

Megan, this is a great question! I found this article to provide you with a variety of ways to use technology in the classroom so that you can create lessons that don't become "boring" after a while. One additional point I wanted to add that was no mentioned in the article is to make sure you are not doing the same type of technology-based task every day or even every week. If you begin to have students complete an activity too frequently, then even the most engaging lesson will eventually become the one they are most burnt out on. This is why it is important to break up the monotony of digital activities or lessons. Hopefully this information was beneficial for you!

One way to keep it fresh is to avoid doing the exact same thing with the technology. If possible, adapt how they implement it for different types of assignments. Another possibility, if the technology is complex, would be introducing what all it can do gradually. This keeps the technology engaging, while the content gets to be delivered in an appealing way.
