Most common in the Bahamas, but few have been spotted in Cuba and Florida. This "morph" of swallow has a green head and back, blue upper wings, a black tail and wingtips, and a white belly and chin. It takes roughly 22 days to hatch without an incubator. About six inches in length when full grown. A very pretty bird, however they have been listed as endangered.

The Bahama Swallow (Tachycineta Cyaneoviridis is the scientific name) was listed as endangered years ago. It is facing a very high risk of total extinction. Their population has decreased due to forest loss, as well as competition with other species.

An amphibian, scientifically known as eleutherodactylus orientalis, that is in fear of extinction in Cuba. The reasons for their high endangerment is due to loss of habitat. They like to hide a lot, probably in fear of humans. They only get to be about 13mm long.

The average life expectancy is about five years; but they can live up to twenty years. Their diet would consist of worms and bugs, about anything small that they can get. They kind of like to keep to themselves, they don’t travel in groups. There isn’t much people are doing to keep them from critical endangerment.

Fun facts these little creatures have a venomous saliva, despite that helpful characteristic they are in grave danger of extinction. At one point they were thought to be extinct til some were found around 1974, so maybe they’re just good at hiding.
