    • This quote explains the theme as it relates to faithfulness and how Troy, shows lack of this. Troy ends up coming clean to Rose and she is very much crushed and disappointed in Troy. Not only did he cheat on Rose but he also got the woman pregnant which breaks Rose so much more. Loyalty is a very important theme in this book.Troy breaks this and turns everyone's life upside down. Rose ends up taking care of the baby since the other mother dies, and she realizes how much of a blessing that baby is and loves it just as much as if it were her own child.

I know this because he is a wonderful nephew, sibling ,and son overall. Especially to his mom when she was in trouble with Troy and hurting Rose’s wrist he stuck up for her because Troy had no need in reacting or hurting Rose like that.

    This represents Cory well because he didn't want to be like his dad, he wanted to be the change to his family overall and I doubt he wanted to be like Lyon. He wanted to be successful and a good family man. So in this case Cory decided to be the change in this world.
