Well most of those parents are just scared that their student is going to get on something they shouldn't be on. Even using the smartboard is using technology. I know some of us are old fashion but we are just going to have to use that technology to help us learn.

Giving the parents information on each technological lesson that will be covered in the classroom can give them piece of mind. The more the parent knows the better they will feel about letting their kids learn with technology.

I agree that extensively informing the parents of the technology that will be used is extremely important. This could be done with a newsletter to the parents or at "Open House" at the beginning of the year. With some forms of technology such as a class website or app, data can be compiled to be analyzed by the teacher and parents. The students' use of the app or website can be provided to the parents on a regular basis, while also being monitored by the teacher.

Use it minimally and don't rely on technology 100% of the time. The more diverse you are in your lesson plans and teaching methods the more you can teach.

I think a great way to show this is through orientation. Parents can come into your room and while kids tour their new classroom, you can show the parents what you will use. You can explain to them your classroom rules about using this technology. This can show the parents what their students will be using and how you can keep a watchful eye on them so it isn't used incorrectly.
