1. The Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts was originally a Neiweipi wetland filled with irrigation ponds (Pitang in Chinese). After southern Taiwan's first public fine art museum was founded in 1994, it became southern Taiwan's most important modern art and culture hub.
2. Inside the museum, there is a “Kids' Art Museum.”  It emphasized child art education and active learning. It provides children with a place for more discovery, exploration and in which to experience art, while simultaneously developing their artistic potential through interactive games.  A public art park was planned outside, with 40 pieces of all kinds of sculpture and installation art scattered amidst the grass, trees and lake.  They display diverse visual effects and also develop the natural environment into part of the art museum.
