the hate you give helped me think about my research question by showing me other peoples perspectives on certain things such as drugs, next realizing how many people actually suffer from addiction. Next Khalil was a big character in the book so he is very important to me . Lastly I truly feel as if a lot of people real to him .

I truly chose this topic to interest more people into understanding how addiction works. Addiction in the brain is something many deal with in the world and it can be something very hard to overcome . when you take any kind of substance your brain releases chemical named dopamine these chemicals are a pleasure compound chemical. Next addiction is something that can take a huge toll on your mind.

When Starr is taking to Uncle Carlos about how Kahlil was ''was more than any bad decision he made'', I believe that we are more than our bad decisions. sometimes we get put onto the wrong track. Kahlil did not have the best influencement in his life. His dad dried because of drugs and he later became a drug dealer. Despite how upset his mother was about his decisions. Addictions change people through, not just the person that is addicted but people close to that person. that is what I think happened it Kahlil, he was influenced by the wrong environment that he grew up in; where nothing was expected of him. This should not define him though.
I do not think that our bad decisions should define us. Instead we should look at bad decisions as a learning experience. A way to learn from the past and hopefully not recreate it. Addiction is a learning experience. Many people are addicted and from these addictions we have found ways to support people and understand why addictions are caused. In conclusion bad decisions or mistakes should not define us, because there is more that lies with a person.

This book is something many should consider reading, this book I feel it can relate to many especially minorities and those who understand that there is real world issues. Next it can really show the way people view life and how hardships can shape a person to the person they currently are . Lastly this definitely has an impact on the nation and the communities and topics like this tend to have culture shocks.

I have had life experiences good and bad . My experience with addiction was when I was younger some loved ones had addictions of there own. I don't really remember much because I was a kid all I could I understand was that it had negative impacts. Also its upsetting to see how something that looks so harmless can get you addicted in all these are my experiences with addiction.
