Beginning in 1941, the Germans began mass transports from the ghettos in Poland to the concentration camps, starting with those people viewed as the least useful: the sick, old, the weak and the very young. As they arrived at the camps, they were separated into 2 groups. The groups were those capable of working and those who weren't. Workers were eventually worked to their deaths, while non workers were sent directly to gas chambers.

Hitler believed Jewish people were weak to mankind. He had a 10 month jail sentence in which he wrote the book Mein Kampf, or My Struggle. In this book contained many anti-Jewish passages and theories about the superiority of the German race. Adolf also believed that the Jewish population was a cause in losing WWI. In his mind, Jews were and inferior race that was poisoning Germany and did not belong in the community.

The final solution is the Nazi policy of exterminating the Jewish population. Mobile killing units called Einsatzgruppen would murder more than 500,000 Soviet Jews and others (by shooting) over the course of the German occupation. Since June 1941, experiments with mass killing methods had been ongoing at the concentration camp of Auschwitz, near Krakow. After using gas in the war against the Soviet Union, Germany soon placed a big order with a German pest-control firm for more of it. This was an indicator of the up coming Holocaust.
