Like Katniss, everyone has to make hard decisions. When I read this book, I felt a strong connection when it came to her decisions. In the past I have struggled to decide when or where or what I'm going to do in difficult situations. For Example, I think the situation where Katniss has to decide who to trust and be her allie shows great symbolism towards the statement decisions can be challenging.

This gold pin represents the teasing and mocks from the Capitol. Katniss originally had received this token from her friend Madge in the first book before entering the Hunger Games. However, after Katniss and Peeta outsmarted the Capitol's evil ways, this Mockingjay symbol has been taken by the "rebels," or the Capitol and they use it as a way of showing that they are greater than Katniss and her overcoming ways.

This gold bracelet represents trust and teamwork. Originally, Effie, a friend of Katniss's gave this bracelet to Haymitch, Katniss and Peeta's mentor, just to match her gold hairstyle, Peeta's gold token, and Katniss's pin. However, Haymitch gave this bracelet to Finnick, another component in the Hunger Games to get Katniss and Peeta to realize this is who Haymitch wants their allie to be. After Katniss accepts Finnick and the bracelet, Finnick willingly saves Peeta, helps Katniss survive, and even would sacrifice himself proving the teamwork between the alliance, and trust Katniss puts in Finnick based of this bracelet.

The internal conflict Katniss sometimes finds is when and what she does in a situation. People sometimes find it hard how to respond to a situation. For Example, after the Capitol may do something hurtful she cannot respond in a manner in which the Capitol will not like. In a circumstance where someone may do something bad to another person one's attitude reflects the others actions.

For Example, John 15:13 says, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." This verse suggests that sometimes you can't always be the one who gets it your way.

The external conflict mostly is between Katniss, her closest friends and family, and President Snow. Katniss and her friends know Snow is evil, but everyone on their side is worried what the Capitol has next coming toward them.

Katniss is controlled by her society. In the Capitol they try to chase her down, kill her in the games, torture her by killing her family. The government tries to take over Katniss, but she has revolted and is flying high, saving her country, being The Mockingjay.
