Since, the majority of seafarers were muslim, the Islam community spread and blended with cultures all around the world.  In addition, the importation of certain goods from specific countries, such as, spices from Malaysia, or porcelain from China, to cities of commerce, results massive exchange of culture, ideas, language, etc. The stern rudder, was an innovation made to make ships more stable and therefore transfer more goods more safely for trade. Global trade at this scale is due to the ability to transfer large amounts of goods through the Maritime silk road.</div>]]></description>
