Sudan tradition have a very interesting practise of medicine, some being herbal medicine and spiritual healing. They use Hibiscus, Peppermint and Nigella sativa which is known as black seed. (Mohamed, R., Mohamed , R., Dafalla, R. et al, 2024) Hibiscus is what they use as a manager of the blood pressure and to also try and improve the circulation of the blood. Nigella sativa is what is used for anti inflammatory and to also boost the immune system. It is also used for indigestion, diarrhoea and many more cases.(Yarnell E, Abascal K, 2011) Traditional healing is used to help battle things that many be happening in a persons life that affects the help. This can be, chants and Amulets.

While reading through Domain 1 i have found that standard 1.2 has stood out to me as i feel that i have learnt and grown in that aspect. I feel having more of an understanding of what has happened in these certain times will help me use the appropriate care while being a nurse. Previously i would have not been as confident in my work/practise in working with people from migrant and refugee backgrounds but now i feel i can put my growth and learning into play and confidentially be able to learn and grow. I will be applying this standard to my practise by insuring i recognise the impacts and trauma that the person may have experienced and keep an appropriate and accurate care.

One factor of WHO that will affect refugees from Sudan is mental/physical Health and Well-being. When refugees from Sudan come to Australia they will have mental health struggles. They not only have to leave there country but are still taking the trauma and loss with them. Not only does this affect someone mentally but will put physical affect on them so social inclusion and non-discrimination is what will help these certain people feel welcomed and included which then help mental and physical health. (Abur, W., & Mphande, C. 2020) They will also have housing issues as it may be a struggle to get accommodation and the funding's for it.

It has been studied that the major health issues that comes from refugees from Sudanese culture to Australia is a limited number of vaccines. The diseases that come over from the refugees could be an easily solution to fix or reduce by getting the vaccine. Not only immunity issues with vaccines but also, vitamin D deficiency. The diseases are gastrointestinal infections, schistosomiasis and latent tuberculosis. (Queensland Health Multicultural Services, 2011) As stated on the Australian refugee health practice guide, skin infections are very common for refugees. It is the sixth most common issues in African refugees. (Australian Refugee Health, n.d.) Simple management plans to treat these skin infections are creams (>6 months old) This cream is called permethrin 5%. Which is a cream that treats scabies, they are little red bumps that are caused by bugs (Scabies Treatment & Side Effects,n.d) There is also benzyl benzoate 25% which is for children 6 months-2 years.

Tambour dance is the traditional danced in Sudan. It is called Hadandawa dance and it is what the Sudan people perform by a nomadic traditionally pastoral people of the Beja tribe. It is from Sudan, Egypt and Eritrea.

Sudan women have a very traditional piece of clothing that they wear, it is called the throbe. It has many colours and designs and has been worn for centuries (Regal Fabrics. Regal Fabrics. 2022) It has a lot of meaning to their culture and has become a symbol of their culture. The language which is spoken in Sudan is known as Nagpuri language. Raghunath Nripati is what to be known as the first poet of the language. The literature of the language started in the 17^th century. Nagvanshi Raghunath king Nripat was a poet.
