Qn 1. Today I learnt many new and interesting information about marine life as well as other creatures. For example, the sperm whale and the adaptation of its body to help it live in deep waters. The guided tour also provided us with a lot of unique and fun facts about the creature that it holds.

I love the museum as it hold so many precious jewels of the past, like the corals and the full grown groupers that we cannot see anywhere else. The museum shares so much interesting and wonderful fun facts which I have never heard of. It holds so much stories from our past which we can discover and learn so much from.

Qn 2. I would share the wonderful and one-of-a-kind learning experience I've had with my family by displaying some images as I relay the fun facts that I have learnt from the guided tour.

if i am able to do so, I hope to be able to bring my family on the same mesmerising tour that I've been on, just so they can relieve the great learning experience I've had.

Qn 3. I can play my part by trying to clear out the seas and land of its waste, or to educate myself better on the issues this creatures face.

As there are many threats that I found out marine creatures face only today. I hope to be able to conscientiously learn about these and research to the best of my abilities to help save these creatures from marine endangerment, like land reclamation and water pollution.

1)What did you learnt and love about the different species in the gallery?

i've learnt actually a lot from the gallery, some of which that really caught my attention were the world's largest crab is a long as 3.8m in the museum, the maximum length the world's smallest crab can grow is 0.2m and our own local crocodile is as long as 5m !!! not only that, i get to know how they actually preserve the specimens, which is something i love the most especially in this learning journey. the fact that there are two types of preservation and the way how the preservation works just really amaze me. the liquid inside each clear jar is actually alcohol ( 70~80% of ethanol ) but not water/saltwater ! besides, after realising the internal organs of the specimens is still intact with the body, and the specimen is actually not floating but hung by stings and objects that support it definitely blow my mind .

2)How do you plan on sharing the new knowledge that you have learnt with your peers and family?

since i've taken some precious pictures of the museum, i thought it would be good to show my peers and family and explain to them what i've learnt there. however, it's always good to go to the museum in person rather than seeing it online. plus my knowledge is limited, the resources in the museum are richer than what i have learnt within the past few hours. if the conditions allow, i definitely would encourage my peers and family members to go visit it. no regrets visiting the museum.

3)Other then the ways of conversation mentioned during the learning journey ,how else do you think we can protect our biodiversity and marine animals?

i think we can participate actively on beach clean up activities organised by a small group of friends or the community centre. although this may not be able to done within ourselves, i hope that the government can put up more signs on the beach to prevent people from littering and put up more rubbish beans on the beaches so that the people would not would not have the excuse to say that they are lazy or the bin is too far away.

1) I learnt so many new facts and terms for the marine animals. Most of these information were quite new to me, therefore they were very informative and interesting. Learning about the marine animals, made me realise that we really need to protect these marine animals before they go extinct. It has raised so much awareness.I was also really captivated by the specimens at the museum. There were species as tiny as 0.2cm and species that were humongous, like for example the 24 metres dinosaur.
2) I will be sharing these new knowledge to my family by showing them the pictures that I took and also informing them on the facts that I learnt today. I will also do my research on certain things so that I can be more precise and exact when i am sharing it to my family. I hope to bring my family to this museum so that they can take a look at the beautiful specimens in real life.

1) I learnt about the threats that marine animals might face due to the actions of humans. I really love looking at the different specimens that are found in the museum like the skeleton of the sperm whale, spiders, crabs and even the dinosaurs. I also learnt more about the sperm whale, and how it was discovered on Singapore's waters.
2) I plan to bring my peers or family members to the museum one day and tell them all the things that I have learnt and on the trip to the museum. I can also post some of the pictures of the specimens that I have taken in the museum and post it on social media, passing my knowledge to my peers through writing them out and even write some fun facts about it.
3) Firstly, we should educate ourselves on the problems faced by marine animals and why it is so important to protect them before it gets too late. We can then create posters or news articles that we can show it to people around us to spread awareness to cut down on the usage of plastic etc. We can also encourage our peers to participate in campaigns with us the clean up the river banks.
