I was always fascinated with the unknown. After I joined the military, I quickly transferred to the air forces. I felt as if I wasn't close enough to the stars so I applied to become a cosmonaut. Once I got my Acceptance letter back, I was overjoyed. There were many mental and physical tests, to prove that I had the right instinct to survive. I put in many years of hard work. It wasn't just about flying, it was about overcoming challenges and adapting to the harsh environment.

As a young boy growing up in Ukraine, imagining that one day I  would be flying above earth, and gazing down on the very land that I call home was almost silly. But here I am, sitting in the cockpit of the Vostok 4. My success in piloting this aircraft determines the survival of my team. For me it isn't about reaching a milestone, Rather it signified the progress of the soviet space program. 

In less than 15 minutes I was applauded for a good flight. I Knew I could do it. I look at my comrades and smile. We are all a part of history. I look at our great blue plant,its beautiful. No picture can capture its beauty.  I wish I could stay here forever.

As our mission for 4 days comes to an end I must say that it was a great experience. Humans are just visitors, they could never survive long term but it's truly very enchanting. I learned so much. I know this is just the beginning. Mankind will discover so much more.
