         <description><![CDATA[<div>Z-fib pads improve the delivery of shocks to individuals receiving cardiac shock. Some of the risks to the patient with the conventional defibrillation pads alone included impedance and burns to the skin. The Z-fib pads improve on defibrillation with the addition of 180 micro needles. These needles penetrate the dermis reducing the risk for burns and decreasing the impedance from skin by 72% without disrupting the AEDs' ability to read the heart's rhythm. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>While this is an improvement on the conventional method of defibrillation, it lacks testing in the field to prove its worth. Potentially, this device could improve resuscitation efforts and both the number of persons that can be revived and the speed in which return of spontaneous circulation, ROSC, can occur. This could benefit patients by decreasing mortality and improving neurological outcomes with a more speedy resuscitation through effective delivery of shocks. </div>]]></description>
