The oldest of the three children. I get my strength and bravery from her. This past year, my mom put aside her life, to take care of her mom. My grandpa passed away on October 25, 2018. The day before he passed, he asked my mom if she would take care of my grandma. My mom never fully grieved the passing of her dad as she had to be the rock for my grandma and her daughters.

The family tradition since before I was born, is every Sunday was family day. We all go to my grandparents house on Sunday to spend time together. We only go out to eat on rare occasions. In the picture below, starting on the left, is my Tio, my moms brother. Next to him in the back, is my Uncle Mark, my moms' brother-in-law, in front of him is my sister, and next to my sister is my Tia (in the middle) my moms' sister-in-law. Behind her, is my sisters boyfriend, Luis. Next to him is my cousin Maya and her brother Mark. I'm in front of them. Next to me is my mom, and behind her is my Auntie Laura, my moms youngest sibling. The two in the front, is the one and only, Manuel & Emma Martinez, the creators of this family.

I have an older sister and we live in a one bedroom apartment together with my two dogs. 
I was pretty athletic growing up. I began soccer and gymnastics at four years old and stuck with soccer until I was a senior in high school. I also played volleyball during middle school and took dance lessons, hip hop and folklórico. 
Unfortunately, I had to stop playing soccer my senior year of high school as I re-injured my knee that I had surgery on during my freshman. I had surgery twice on my knee for tearing my ACL and MCL freshman year and tearing my Meniscus senior year.

My second job was Temple City Parks and Recreation, which I did during summer break. My third job was with an organization called, College Nannies & Tutors. My fourth job was Cost Plus World Market. 
I am currently working for Temple City Parks & Recreation Department as a Rec Leader. I have a variety of positions such as working with the after school teen program, front desk, coaching, and special events.

Leaders must be able to problem-solve, plan, organize, be self-motivated, and empower others. A leader can also be seen as a mentor, someone with knowledge who has the ability to communicate effectively to others. A person who lives to help others is a leader, as they carry the qualities in which influence, advise, and impact others. With my personal experience, I learned what takes to be an effective leader which includes the ability to understand, be open-minded, and listen to others input. I will effectively lead my team by fostering collaboration, provide opportunities for growth, and appreciate individuality. 

The United States Department of Justice website provides an overview of information about child sex trafficking. The Chief of Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Steven Grocki, addresses child sex trafficking of those who prey on vulnerable children and how the processes may take place for the offenders to conduct their business. He also reveals the role of technology in which victims are placed on the market for clientele. Amongst the forms of sex trafficking, he informs readers on the challenges that law enforcement is faced with in this field. 
I find this article to show effective leadership qualities as it informs and provides an understanding of this worldwide social crisis faces.
